UKBA cracks down on illegal workers

30 November 2008- The UKBA is actively seeking out illegal immigrants and fake employers in the UK as can be seen when on Friday 20th November UKBA officers checked the immigration status of all workers at a number of restaurants in Lincolnshire in the UK.

17 Illegal workers have been caught so far and the UKBA is looking to send these illegal immigrants to their home countries.

The tough new penalty system was introduced last year to give a fast and effective way of penalizing employers who do not carry out thorough checks on workers from outside Europe.

These raids on illegal workers coincide with a big advertising campaign informing employers of the fines involved with employing illegal foreign workers.
